The GMV and GRV vertical spindle double-disc grinding systems feature a cast box-frame design with greater rigidity than a comparable portal machine. There are two vertical , directly-driven motor spindles, each have an output of 5 HP to 40 HP. They are attached to a Linear Slide Bearing which performs all in-feed and return motions with a precision screw drive.

The machine version required for this application can be used as an indexing system, plunge cut, as well as a continuous thru-feed grinding machine. A number of parts can be ground simultaneously with the planetary drive provided with controlled rotation. Various types of optional parts handling are offered, which can feature in-line de-burring, washing and 100% measuring with system feed-back .

Double Disc Grinding Machinery - Horizontal Spindle

The DRG Processing System refers to a double surface grinding machine with horizontal spindle. This machine model features cast iron rib-less construction with two opposing horizontal grinding spindles with the same axis. These are directly driven motor driven spindles whose main spindle drives each have a motor output of 7.5HP to 50 HP. Horizontal systems are appropriate for applications requiring large amounts of removal, very thin parts or components requiring a high level of perpendicularity.  

Various types of parts transport are possible. Linear part feed can also be selected, depending on the work geometry. In this case, the work is fed and guided with the help of guide rails for the grinding tools.
