Diamond Discs & Films
Diamond Discs - Lapmaster's electroplated diamond discs are used for grinding hard materials including ceramics, metals, and petrography specimens. A hard nickel alloy is used to rigidly bond a layer of sharp, blocky diamond to a steel backing. The sharp diamond particles cut cleanly with no edge rounding. Diamond discs should be used with a coolant and at speeds of less than 500 RPM. These discs can be purchased with at PSA backing or can be attached magnetically. Lapmaster's standard size discs are 8" and 12" in diameter and are available in a variety of micron sizes.

Diamond Films - Lapmaster's diamond films consist of 3-mil polyester backing coated with a layer of precision graded diamond. These films are recommended for applications where flatness and edge retention are critical, such as electronic components or samples composed of multiple materials of various harnesses. These diamond discs are available in micron sizes ranging from 0.25 - 0.30 microns.
