Transaction strengthens Lapmaster International’s market position in the precision surfacing solutions marketplace.
Mount Prospect, IL, February 6th, 2006 – Lapmaster International, LLC, a manufacturer of high precision machine tools headquartered in Morton Grove, IL today announced the acquisition of Barnes Bore Honing and Finishing Systems based in Rockford, IL. Lapmaster International is a recognized world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of precision grinding, lapping, and polishing products for the precision surfacing of virtually any material including metals, plastics, optics, and advanced materials. This transaction adds a series of industry leading bore honing and finishing machine tools to Lapmaster’s existing product range of high quality precision surfacing equipment.
Since 1907, Barnes Bore Honing and Finishing Systems has been considered a world leader in developing innovative new technology and processes to help manufacturers improve product performance, quality and cost. The earliest Barnes honing machines were the first-ever to make honing a practical and efficient means of finishing automotive cylinder bores in a production environment. Barnes Bore Honing and Finishing Systems will remain a separate brand but become a wholly owned division of Lapmaster International, LLC.
